- Alfred Hitchcock’s Academy curse -1958
- “Pulp Fiction” and Morgan Freeman get Gump-ed -1994
- Robert Duvall steals the show, but is robbed of the award - 1979
- “LA Confidential” is sunk by a blockbuster - 1997
- Al Pacino’s best apparently not good enough - 1976
- “Brokeback Mountain” wins everything but an Oscar - 2005
